A Michigan doctor is being investigated for allegedly performing liposuctions in a barn.
Dr. Bradley Bastow, who, according to his Body Laser Sculpting website, has three locations in the state, is under investigation after police received a report by the health department expressing “concern that appropriate biohazard standards may not have been followed at that location. The health department says the building doesn’t have a certificate of occupancy and isn’t approved ‘for any business activities,’” according to the local FOX affiliate.
The doctor’s site also claims to perform breast augmentation, as well as facelifts (he’s certified in internal medicine, not plastic surgery); as of now, the health department is only concerned about the liposuction procedures performed at the barn and are warning people to seek “immediate medical care if they had surgery at the site and show any signs of infection such as fever, redness, and swelling.”
