A recent trial suggests that a single system combining electromagnetic stimulation and radiofrequency may support pelvic floor rehabilitation and core strengthening in addition to its aesthetic uses.
Rejuva Fresh, a developer of energy-based aesthetic technology, has announced the release of a clinical study on its Emshape Neo Plus device. The study, conducted by Dr Joseph Guinto of TRXN Chiropractic Care, evaluated the device’s effectiveness in treating health issues such as weak pelvic floor control and diastasis recti, in addition to its aesthetic uses.
The Emshape Neo Plus system combines high-intensity electromagnetic pulses with high-frequency radio waves to stimulate muscle development and collagen synthesis. The device is US Food and Drug Administration-cleared and, according to the company, offers a non-invasive treatment for muscle rehabilitation and body sculpting.
The clinical trial involved 10 female athletes in their early 30s who experienced urine leakage during exercise. The treatment protocol consisted of eight sessions over four weeks, focusing on pelvic floor strengthening and core retraining. According to the study findings, patients achieved an average 80% reduction in urine leakage by the sixth session. By the end of the four-week period, all participants had reportedly resumed their full workout routines.
A Single System for Multiple Applications
The study highlights the deviceโs dual-energy design, which aims to provide a more efficient treatment protocol for clinics. By integrating two technologies into one system, it may reduce the need for multiple devices to address different patient needs.
“One thing that sets Emshape Neo Plus apart is its ability to penetrate deeper than other electromagnetic wave systems on the market and combine two gold-standard technologiesโHICMMT and Deep Stretch radiofrequencyโinto a single, efficient treatment protocol,” says Guinto, in a release. “This is not only more streamlined for practicesโit’s a game-changer for patients. We can now proactively enhance, tone, and firm both core and pelvic muscles, while radiofrequency-driven collagen stimulation supports skin regeneration. Unlike conventional treatments that focus solely on fat reduction or skin tightening, Emshape Neo Plus offers muscle rehabilitation, making it a more complete solution.”
