You may not be a big fan of a television show that highlighted plastic surgeries gone awry, but there are quite a few reasons why everyone should watch the TV show “Botched.” The series is popular and has brought in a good number of viewers, but it isn’t as much entertainment as it is educational. Here are five important lessons that we have learned from the show so far.
1. Avoid unnecessary extreme plastic surgeries
We learn a lot about the pros and cons of extreme surgeries. One of the things that we learned is that massive sized breast implants have the potential to deform the shape of your breasts. Some surgeons may refuse to perform such a procedure while others are willing to give it a try if that is what the patient wants. We learn by watching the consequences that some others have experienced and it lets us know that some extreme plastic surgeries come with high risk of unsatisfactory results and the need for more surgeries to fix the problems that they cause. The predominant theme of the show is a solid advisement against having extreme plastic surgeries that are not necessary. In most cases, less is better.
2. Cheap rates may be a red flag to run
The field of plastic surgery is competitive and there is a virtual plethora of surgeons to choose from. Some offer big discounts on their services. They are doing so to attract more patients. “Botched” shows us some very good reasons why we should avoid plastic surgeons who offer budget prices. If their clientele is low there is probably a reason. Many botched surgeries come from cut rate surgeons who are not popular for the quality of the work that they perform. Not all who offer lower prices are bad necessarily, but bear in mind, the old adage “you get what you pay for” is generally true.
