A lady never nips, tucks and tells.
Jane Fonda believed she was appearing on Megyn Kelly’s new NBC morning show “Megyn Kelly Today” to discuss her upcoming film, “Our Souls at Night.” Instead, she found herself flanked by questions about her youthful appearance — and she wasn’t having it.
“We really want to talk about that now?” Fonda snapped after Kelly questioned her about rumors she was “not proud to admit” she’d gone under the knife.
Kelly attempted to regain control of the interview, gushing about “how amazing” 79-year-old Fonda looks, to no avail.
Instead, the actress issued a reserved “thanks,” grabbed the wheel and steered the interview back in the direction of the film.
“Let me tell you why I love this movie that we did, ‘Our Souls at Night,’ rather than plastic surgery,” she jabbed.
“Back to that, huh?” co-star Robert Redford, who joined her on “Megyn Kelly Today,” said.
Fonda went on to speak at length about the film, delving into her character and plot details with help from Redford.
As their chat came to a close, Kelly attempted once more to get Fonda to talk about age and appearance.
Sharing an audience question, Kelly asked, “if you could go back to any age in your life, what would it be? I ask that to both of you.”
“Right now. I wouldn’t want any other time,” Fonda said bluntly.
Twitter users were quick to pick up on the tension on the “Megyn Kelly Today” set. Most couldn’t get enough of the look on Fonda’s face as Kelly questioned her about cosmetic procedures.
