The Austin site expands US training offerings with hands-on education in aesthetic procedures and practice development.

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, announced the opening of a new Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) training center in Austin, Texas. The site is the third US AMI Training Center opened in the past year and expands the company’s training network.

AMI Austin is designed as an interactive learning environment for healthcare professionals. The center provides training intended to support clinical skill development across experience levels and offers opportunities for peer learning.

The AMI program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training. The Austin center offers education in clinical, consultative, and business aspects of aesthetic practice.

“The opening of AMI Austin represents another step in expanding access to aesthetics training,” says Glen Curran, senior vice president, US, Allergan Aesthetics, in a release. “By expanding into Austin, we’re increasing access to training that supports patient care and provider education.”

The center is led by Saami Khalifian, MD, medical director for AMI Training Centers. Programming includes instruction on injection techniques, complication management, and practice development.

Training is offered across the Allergan Aesthetics portfolio, including facial injectables, body contouring, skincare, and plastic and regenerative medicine.

The Austin location joins existing AMI training centers in Irvine, California, and Atlanta.
