What makes the perfect set of legs?

Sure, most people know a pair when they see them, but it is more scientific than that. It seems the straightness of the bones is what gives one set of legs a leg up on another.

The Benslimane’s Artistic Model for Leg Beauty

Fahd Benslimane, MD, a Moroccan plastic surgeon, has been studying legs for 12 years. After analyzing photographs of models and athletes, Barbie dolls, and Greek statues, he has determined that the straightness of the bones is one of the most important factors.

The perfect pair of legs combine fragility and strength, and to do this, the leg bones must run in a straight line from the top of the thigh, down to the knee joint and to the ankle. There should be slight curves at the knee and calf. This work is now called The Benslimane’s Artistic Model for Leg Beauty.

The goal of his research was to have an ideal model and compare the disparity between this model and a patient’s reality during body contouring consultations. Such information could prove helpful during leg sculpturing to get closer to this ideal. Postoperatively, the result could then be compared to the ideal curves of the model legs.

The results of the study were published in the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal.
