Anthony E. Brissett officially began his term as AAFPRS President on September 20, 2025, with goals to expand education, strengthen engagement, and ensure financial stability.
Anthony E. Brissett, MD, FACS, officially assumed the role of President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) on September 20, 2025, during the organizationโs Annual Business Meeting in Los Angeles.
Background and Clinical Expertise
Brissett is double board-certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and is internationally recognized for his work in cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgery. His clinical practice includes rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, trauma care, and reconstruction. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, completed residency at the Mayo Clinic, and completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota.
Current Roles and Humanitarian Work
Brissett serves as professor of otolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is also vice chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is a board member of the Face the Future Foundation and is active in global healthcare initiatives focused on building sustainable medical capacity internationally.

His stated priorities include enhancing educational offerings through the Education Reimagination Campaign, strengthening member benefits, and ensuring the organizationโs long-term financial stability.
