The award recognizes over two decades of contributions to research, innovation, and education in the field of aesthetic medicine.

The Aesthetic Society has named Jeffrey Spiegel, MD, founder of The Spiegel Center, as the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor recognizes more than 20 years of contributions to the advancement of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine through research, innovation, physician education, and patient care.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is the most prestigious individual honor from The Aesthetic Society. The award recognizes physicians who have devoted a significant portion of their careers to advancing the aesthetic industry while demonstrating excellence, dedication, and a passion for innovation in research, education, patient care, or product development.

“Dr Spiegel is truly deserving of the Lifetime Achievement Award,” says Mindy Millat of The Aesthetic Society, in a release. “Nominated by respected peers, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence throughout his distinguished career. His lasting contributions to the aesthetic industry, exceptional accomplishments, and decades of experience have had a meaningful impact on the field, making this recognition a well-earned honor.”

For more than 26 years, Spiegel has focused on facial plastic surgery. A double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and chief of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Boston University School of Medicine, he has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications, developed surgical techniques, and earned a US patent related to facial plastic surgery, the release states.

Since 2009, Spiegel has also trained facial plastic surgery fellows through a fellowship program, mentoring surgeons who now practice internationally. His career includes being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for 23 consecutive years and a Boston Magazine Top Doctor for more than two decades.

“Every opportunity to conduct research, teach another surgeon, or improve a technique has been driven by one goal: helping patients receive the very best care possible,” says Spiegel in a release. “It is the needs of patients that pushed me to innovate. I’ve always worked to find creative solutions to seemingly impossible problems.”

Spiegel is also a founding partner of Premier Plastic Surgery Partners, a physician-led partnership platform for plastic and facial plastic surgeons. The platform was established to help independent practices remain physician-led while providing strategic resources.

“Receiving a lifetime achievement award is both humbling and motivating,” says Spiegel in the release. “Medicine is constantly evolving, and there is always more to learn, more to discover, and more we can do for our patients. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the profession that has given me so much.”
