POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics has begun the phased introduction of Microthane implants manufactured using an updated proprietary process that is the subject of a European patent application.
POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics announced the phased introduction of Microthane, an updated version of one of the company’s established breast implant technologies. The company said the implants are manufactured using a proprietary process that is the subject of European patent application EP26184379.1, filed June 10, 2026.
The updated manufacturing process reportedly maintains the clinical characteristics associated with Microthane while introducing a flat, patch-free posterior surface and smooth edges.
Updated Manufacturing Process
According to the company, the updated manufacturing process represents a refinement of an established product and reflects its ongoing investment in breast implant technology.
“The innovation at POLYTECH is built on continuous research,” said Prof Dr Karsten Hemmrich, POLYTECH’s CEO. “Microthane reflects our long-term commitment to polyurethane technology, manufacturing excellence and supporting surgeons with solutions that continue to evolve alongside clinical practice.”
Phased Market Introduction
The phased introduction has begun in selected markets and will continue regionally based on manufacturing capacity and applicable regulatory requirements.
The company, which is based in Germany and manufacturers all its breast implants at its headquarters in Dieburg, Germany, said healthcare professionals should contact their local company representative for information on product availability in their markets. POLYTECH, which specializes in breast aesthetics, reconstruction, and body contouring, distributes its products in more than 90 countries.
