The professional-exclusive serum and cream use epidermal growth factor and amino acids to support skin barrier repair, with small clinical studies reporting improvements in redness, hydration, and recovery following aesthetic procedures.

EltaMD Skin Care has launched Skin Recovery Regenerating Rapid Recovery Serum and Cream, a professional-exclusive system designed to support post-procedure recovery while improving skin quality and resilience with continued daily use.

The system, developed for patients undergoing aesthetic procedures including lasers and microneedling, pairs epidermal growth factor (EGF) technology with a patented ratio of amino acids intended to support the skin’s natural repair process. The launch extends EltaMD’s footprint from its established UV protection category into the post-procedure care segment.

“Patients are investing more than ever in professional aesthetic treatments and want to protect those results,” says Annie Woo, MD, senior director of professional affairs at Colgate-Palmolive Skin Health Group, in a release. “We designed this system with dermatologists to bridge the gap between post-procedure recovery and daily skincare, providing instant soothing relief while building habits that protect their treatment investment long-term. It’s built to keep working well after the recovery window ends.”

Formulation and Clinical Results

At the core of the system is EltaMD’s Amino Acid Restore Complex, developed through more than 15 years of research into amino acids and skin, paired with an EGF Tripeptide blend, according to a release from the company.

The Rapid Recovery Serum is formulated with 3% amino acid restore complex, 1% EGF tripeptide, hyaluronic acid, allantoin, and cica. In a 12-week clinical study of 33 subjects with signs of aging, dryness, and redness, the serum neutralized visible redness in 15 minutes and delivered a 14.5% improvement in skin laxity, 11% improvement in skin elasticity, and 19% improvement in skin tightness.

In a four-week split-face assessment of 15 subjects following RF microneedling with Morpheus8, the serum reduced skin temperature by 6%, improved the visible appearance of pinpoint bleeding, and accelerated barrier recovery.

In an 8-week clinical study of 31 subjects with mild dryness and redness, an application delivered 41% less dryness, 36% improved radiance, and 20% improved hydration. In a two-week split-face assessment following fractional laser treatment with Clear + Brilliant in 15 subjects, 100% of patients agreed skin felt smoother, looked more radiant, was more even-toned, and appearance was noticeably improved.

“After lasers or microneedling, patients need products that cool and calm the skin quickly without feeling heavy or irritating. Proper at-home post-procedure care is critical to meeting these immediate needs while maximizing clinical outcomes and sustaining treatment results. I’m thrilled for my patients to experience EltaMD’s breakthrough post-procedure protocol,” says Melanie D. Palm, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Art of Skin MD in Solana Beach, California, in a release.

The Rapid Recovery Serum and Cream are available exclusively through participating skin health professionals.
