The company will highlight research and surgeon experience with its dual-density collagen hydrogel technology at Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2026.
Fesarius Therapeutics announced it will showcase its DermiSphere hDRT technology at Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2026, scheduled for Oct 15 to 18 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
The biomaterial platform is a dual-density collagen hydrogel dermal regeneration template engineered to create a dual-density scaffold that supports tissue integration, rapid vascularization, and new tissue formation. Developed from technology discovered by Jason Spector, MD, at Weill Cornell Medicine, the template pairs a collagen hydrogel with denser collagen microspheres to support dermal tissue repair.
Symposium to Highlight Clinical Data and Architecture
The company will host a scientific symposium titled “From Benchtop to Bedside—Advancing Dermal Regeneration with Hydrogel Technology” on Saturday, Oct 17. The session will examine the foundational science and clinical applications of DermiSphere hDRT, including its dual-density microarchitecture, published clinical data, and surgeon experience across complex reconstructive and wound procedures.
Presenters for the symposium include Spector, who serves as founder and chief medical officer of Fesarius Therapeutics as well as chief of the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Brendan MacKay, MD, associate professor of orthopedic surgery and UMC director of hand and microvascular surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
In addition to the scientific session, Fesarius president and CEO Tom Roueche will participate in an expert panel hosted by ASPS Ventures on Oct 17. Fesarius represents the inaugural investment for the medtech venture fund, which focuses on connecting plastic surgeons, innovation, and investment to address unmet clinical needs.
Fesarius received FDA 510(k) marketing authorization for DermiSphere hDRT last year to allow for commercial sale in the United States.
