By donating its enlighten tattoo removal laser and clinical training services (a $300,000 value) to the Homeboy rehab, re-entry program, Cutera is providing men and women with a second chance in life.

Cutera is collaborating with Homeboy Industries, a gang rehabilitation and re-entry program, to empower former gang members to reclaim their lives.

For over 30 years, Homeboy Industries has supported more than 10,000 former gang members annually. In an effort to make positive change in these men and women’s lives, Homeboy Industries provides services such as parenting classes, anger management and tattoo removal to support their re-entry, and as they integrate back into their families and the workforce, with newfound confidence and stability.

How we look on the outside, often affects how we feel on the inside. It is with this in mind that Cutera, led by Michael Karavitis, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Cutera Inc, donated a Cutera enlighten laser to Homeboy Industries’ Tattoo Removal Clinic along with clinical training and service (a $300,000 value) to aid community members who need tattoo removal to get back on their feet.

“Homeboy Industries’ mission, rehabilitation programs and community support, is what Cutera is extremely passionate about,” shares Karavitis. “Homeboy Industries population needs tattoo removal for various reasons that includes as first priority removal of the most visible, those tattoos that may alter the course of a job interview, hinder employment, prevent a return to high school, is a sex traffic branding and a painful, emotional tag and scar. At Cutera, we want to provide these men and women with a second chance by creating a clean slate – literally.”
