Barbed Suture

Articulus CT400 by Surgical Specialties is a knotless barbed suture that combines two unidirectional threads to elevate and fixate sagging facial tissue. The CT400 reduces procedure time, increases suture-to-tissue holding strengths, and enhances efficiencies of thread-lift procedures in the midface and the brow. Each suture is 21.6 inches long, with two 41¼2-inch-long opposing barbed sections and a long, thin needle on each end. The barbs are arranged in a helical pattern, with more than 20 barbs per inch for a high barb-to-tissue ratio. The opposing barb segments are connected by a 2-inch section of smooth, nonbarbed suture to create an anchoring site instead of a knot. The 7-inch taper-cut needles are 0.034 inches in diameter and create a narrow needle channel, which allows greater suture-to-tissue contact.

Skin-Rejuvenation System

Salt-A-Peel™ MacroDermabrasion Therapy by IntegreMed is a sodium chloride-based skin-rejuvenation system that combines air pressure, pure salt, ultrasound, and antioxidants to combat the effects of aging. Salt-A-Peel is a two-stage process: During DermaPhoresis™, ultrasound is used to massage vitamins A and C into the skin. Ultrasound creates air bubbles beneath the skin’s surface, making the skin more porous so that the antioxidants can be massaged into it. The ultrasound frequency stimulates the fibroblast cells to create more elastin and collagen, resulting in new, healthier, more nourished skin. During the second phase, the system gently removes the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of dead skin) to reveal fresh skin.

Fat-Harvesting System

Genesis Biosystems offers the LipiVage™ Fat Harvest, Wash & Transfer System, a patent-pending disposable medical device that makes fat-transfer procedures simple for the physician and his or her staff. Centrifuging, decanting, or exposing fat cells is unnecessary. The device harvests autologous fat cells at a low vacuum level, making it gentler than other methods. Fat cells collect in the harvester, a sterile filtration chamber enclosed within the LipiVage device. Once inside, the fat is gently cleaned and concentrated by the filter under low vacuum. Unwanted fluids pass through the fat and filter, and out into an attached waste canister. The fat cells are immediately ready for reinjection.
