Microneedling combined with 10% trichloroacetic acid peels improved and maintained hyperpigmentation more than carbon dioxide laser resurfacing alone, according to a study presented recently at the American Academy of Dermatology virtual meeting.

โ€œInfraorbital dark circles are one of the major cosmetic concerns, which is defined as pigmentation under the eyes,โ€ says Banu Farabi, MD,ย of Ankara University School of Medicine. โ€œThe idea behind choosing microneedling plus 10% trichloroacetic acid was, these modalities are cheaper compared to other options and proven to be effective in other pigmentary disorders such as melasma.โ€
