The AAFPRS Foundation Board announces it has cancelled the in-person gathering for the 2021 AAFPRS Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Rather, it is hosting a virtual meeting on the same dates: September 29-October 2.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been made even more concerning in recent weeks due to the serious and dangerous surge of the Delta variant over the last month (as per the CDC, the highly contagious Delta variant is more than 2x as contagious as previous variants, causes more infections and spreads faster than early forms of the virus—even among those who are vaccinated). Your health, safety and well-being are our top priority.
With the short-term outlook remaining very unclear and due to the high transmission rates and breakthrough cases in the Las Vegas area (as well as all around the United States and many other countries, too), even organizers believe this is the most prudent decision and is in the best interest of everyone involved with the meeting.
- Per our registration policies, if you are registered for the AAFPRS Annual Meeting, registration fees paid for the in-person meeting will be automatically transferred to the virtual event experience. Guest registrations are eligible for a full refund upon request.
- Organizers urge anyone who made travel arrangements to cancel flight reservations as quickly as possible. Most airlines are waiving change fees.
- Paris Las Vegas will cancel all reservations in the AAFPRS hotel room block automatically.
The Meeting Has Gone Virtual
Instead of an in-person meeting, AAFPRS will be hosting a VIRTUAL program, taking place over the same dates (September 29-October 3). The virtual platform will offer on-demand content, as well as live presentations and featured speakers. For more information and to register, visit 2021 AAFPRS Virtual Annual Meeting.
