Mark Mandell-Brown, MD has been named President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr Mandell-Brown was officially inducted on February 28 at the AACS 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting in Las Vegas.
“I am truly honored to be taking the reins of AACS, the only organization dedicated solely to the advancement of cosmetic surgery,” Mandell-Brown says in a media release. “Our strength lies in our ability to bring together specialists and stakeholders from many different medical specialties and backgrounds to share ideas and resources. My main goal as president of AACS is to encourage this spirit of collaboration even further with new programs and recruitment efforts.
“One way we are engaging members is through the establishment of three new committees: Women in Cosmetic Surgery, Young Physicians, and Allied Health & Practice Management to bring new voices and perspectives to AACS. I also plan to enhance member communications, facilitate connections through the publication of a new Membership Directory, and invest in the future of cosmetic surgery by growing the AACS certified Fellowship programs that train the next generation of specialists.
“AACS is known for offering the highest quality and most accessible educational programming to its members. I am looking forward to an outstanding Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego at the beginning of 2021 as well as this year’s online courses like the Board Review Course and WebClinics. The Board of Trustees and I are dedicated to making this year one of growth and optimism for AACS.”
