In the wake of the COVID-19 Coronavirus epidemic, the next few months are set to be trying for all businesses, not just clinical and Aesthetics. Many companies will need to reassess how they do business going forward and how the industry landscape is going to change over the coming months.
It is a logical step that businesses will move to work remotely, and virtual technology is going to play a massive part in keeping industry going.
One company already ahead of the curve is MyFaceMyBody. Late last year, MyFaceMyBody and GVAS CEO Stephen Handisides took the unprecedented move to take the business into a virtual space. Holding the first-ever Global Aesthetic Awards virtually (after almost 10 years of physical events held in London, LA, and Sydney), live streaming the event direct from Las Vegas. And GVAS, the first-ever Global Virtual Aesthetic Summit, was a virtual trade summit for the Aesthetic sector, with virtual seminars, conferences, and even a virtual networking lounge. Both events were a phenomenal success with thousands of delegates attending both events in the virtual space.
In the wake of COVID-19, the MyFaceMyBody Awards for 2020 and GVAS 2020 are likely to be one of the very few similar events that will be able to take place for this year.
The MyFaceMyBody Virtual Global Aesthetic Awards 2020 will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 5:00 pm (PDT). The awards will be ‘virtually’ streamed live from Los Angeles into the clinics, homes, and offices of thousands of Aesthetic industry businesses, staff, surgeons and teams from around the world. These prestigious awards are the pinnacle of the Aesthetic Industry – the awards to win, to be recognized within the Aesthetics sector, MyFaceMyBody suggests in a media release. The awards program is now open for submissions.
GVAS 2020 is back with not one, but two virtual events: the GVAS ‘essentials’ Meeting on May 30, 2020, and the GVAS 2-day Summit on November 14 and 15, 2020. The Global Virtual Aesthetic Summit delivers a unique conference format. Some of the greatest minds in the Aesthetic Industry meeting in a virtual space, over 48 hours. 1,450 delegates attended last year’s event virtually from 22 countries, including the US, UK, Australia, India and as far afield as Grand Cayman, Russia and the Philippines.
GVAS 2020 will build on that success with an extensive timetable that features both clinical and business programs. GVAS will host some of the world’s top plastic surgeons, doctors, and aesthetic Industry leaders to provide an unprecedented and unique clinical program. Held virtually and available in four different languages, the program will be a truly global event. Virtual visitors will be able to visit regional exhibition halls, engage with vendors, and learn about some of the latest technologies from around the world, the release continues.
“COVID-19 is going to have a massive impact on businesses over the coming year. Virtual technology means that companies can still work, remain current, learn and survive. With physical events being cancelled all over the world, GVAS and MyFaceMyBody still mean that even those that are self-isolating can be involved, engage, take part and learn in a safe environment,” Handisides explains.
“We are helping companies by setting them up virtual meetings in GVAS where they can still have client meetings in an online space. Virtual technology is the way of the future!” he adds.
