Weave reported an 18.3% increase in Q1 2025 revenue and announced plans to acquire AI firm TrueLark as it expands its offerings for plastic surgery and other aesthetic medical practices.
Weave Communications Inc, a customer communication and payment software provider for healthcare practices, announced its Q1 2025 results with total revenue of $55.8 million, up 18.3% year-over-year. The company reported a GAAP net loss of $8.8 million, or $0.12 per share, while non-GAAP net income was $0.5 million, or $0.01 per share. Gross margins improved on both a GAAP and non-GAAP basis.
Adjusted EBITDA was positive at $1.0 million, and the company significantly reduced its operating cash burn, with only $0.2 million in net cash used during the quarter.
Relevance to Plastic Surgery Practices
Weave’s platform is designed to support patient-focused communication and front-office efficiency for small and midsize healthcare providers, including plastic surgery practices. The system integrates two-way texting, appointment reminders, call analytics, review generation, online scheduling, and payment processing into a single dashboard. For plastic surgery practices, this can streamline patient engagement, reduce no-shows, and help manage elective treatment payments and pre/post-op communications—all within HIPAA-compliant workflows.
AI Expansion Through TrueLark Acquisition
To strengthen its offerings in patient communication, Weave has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire TrueLark, an AI-driven virtual receptionist platform. The $35 million deal includes $25 million in cash and $10 million in equity. TrueLark’s technology will allow plastic surgery practices to automate patient scheduling, rescheduling, and FAQs through 24/7 web chat and SMS messaging, potentially reducing administrative workload and improving responsiveness outside of business hours.
Growth in Aesthetic and Medical Verticals
Weave reported a record quarter in specialty medical sales, with plastic surgery and med spa segments among the fastest-growing. The company attributed part of this growth to new integrations with Prompt, Practice Fusion, and Veradigm, which expanded its addressable healthcare market by approximately 60,000 locations.
Guidance for 2025
Weave expects second-quarter revenue to fall between $57.3 million and $58.3 million, with full-year revenue projected between $236.8 million and $239.8 million. These projections assume the TrueLark acquisition closes in Q2.
