A woman from Connecticut has died after police believe she was the victim of a botched illegal surgery in New York City. According to ABC 7 News, 53-year-old Maxine Messam was wandering pantless outside a cemetery in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx when she was spotted on Tuesday morning.
Two women quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, where they hoped she could be treated. But as soon as doctors were able to see Messam, it was already clear that little could be done.
