Plastic surgeons and dermatologists across the US reveal the most popular aesthetic treatments for brides, grooms, and wedding parties.
RealSelf, an online destination for exploring cosmetic treatments and connecting with vetted doctors, has released its 2025 Wedding Glow-Up Real Talk Report, offering a look at the most in-demand aesthetic treatment trends for brides, grooms, and their wedding parties.
Drawing on data from millions of consumer searches on RealSelf, real patient reviews, and in-office insights from 20 plastic surgeons and dermatologists in regions across the US, the report also touches on the celebrities and influencers driving the trends, along with details on the most popular quick fixes and โred flagโ treatments to avoid too close to the big day.
โMore brides are turning to cosmetic enhancements to achieve the picture-perfect look they envision for their wedding day, often viewing it as a way to celebrate a new chapter in their lives with a fresh physical transformation,โ says Urmen Desai, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills.
Brides are the most likely to prioritize natural-looking enhancement via aesthetic treatments, but theyโre not the only ones: Other members of the wedding party are also seeking out procedures to help them look like the best versions of themselves, while avoiding an overly โdoneโ look in the lead-up to an event thatโs destined to be immortalized in photos and on social media.
Trending Treatments for Wedding-Ready Skin and Structure
Top trends and takeaways from the report:
- The most-requested pre-wedding treatments across the country are injectable neurotoxins like Botox, to relax fine lines and wrinkles, as well as fillers for subtle volume and contouringโespecially to create a more defined profile.
- Radiant skin is also a major priority, especially for brides. Trends like the โclean girl” and “glass skin” aesthetics are driving demand for HydraFacials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and microneedling with radiofrequency, exosomes, and/or PRP.
- โAs seen at the weddings of Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, Annie Clark and Luke Karaim, and Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan, radiant, flawless skin remains the ultimate beauty essential,โ according to Barry Weintraub, MD,ย a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City. Doctors also cited the influence of celebrities like Sofia Richie Grainge and Alex Cooper for brides, as well as Chris Evans and David Beckham, who have โmade skin care and structured jawlines a big dealโ for grooms, says board-certified facial plastic surgeon Andrew Campbell, MD, who practices in Delafield, Wisconsin.
- In the past year, 69% of the RealSelf reviews that mention getting a procedure to prepare for a wedding were written by brides. Of those, 70% had a surgical procedure, and most were facial plastic surgery procedures like rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and chin liposuction.
- Doctors also report a growing emphasis on aesthetic treatments for grooms who are booking treatments like โBrotoxโ (for wrinkle smoothing and sweat reduction), laser skin resurfacing, fillers for chin and jawline contouring, hair restoration, and liposuction.
- Itโs increasingly common for parents of the bride and groom to have surgical facial rejuvenation procedures like facelifts and eyelid surgery, stemming from a desire to look more youthful as they reunite with family and friends. Of the RealSelf reviews from the past year that specifically mention prepping for a wedding, 17% are from mothers of the bride or groom, with a majority having a facial plastic surgery procedure. Surgeons report that parents are planning their procedures up to a year in advance of the occasion, to allow ample time for healing.
- Pre-wedding aesthetic procedures remain a spending priority despite economic uncertainty, according to all of the doctors we surveyed. However, many noted that couples are becoming more strategic by choosing more affordable options or procedures with long-lasting results. Theyโre also opting for treatment packages (which offer a price break) or financing.
โMore than any generation before them, Millennials and Gen Z couples are taking their time to make sure theyโve found the right match. When they walk down the aisle, they want to face their friends, family, and photographers with complete confidence,โ says Minou Clark, CEO of RealSelf, in a release. โIn so many RealSelf reviews, people say they thought about changing a feature that bothered them for years before an upcoming wedding finally gave them the motivation to book their procedure. We love playing matchmaker and connecting people to the right doctor to make their aesthetic goals a reality for these once-in-a-lifetime occasions. Itโs about more than just credentials. As in love, chemistry is everything.โ
