Surgical techniques for transgender surgery are among the research being presented at Plastic Surgery The Meeting.
“While gender-confirming surgery represents one of many therapies for transgender individuals with gender dysphoria, it can be pivotal in allowing individuals to become their true selves,” Loren S. Schechter, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon who practices in Morton Grove, Illinois, told Healio.com/Aesthetics.
Schechter’s presentation will focus on male-to-female transgender surgery, and includes surgical techniques, as well as the framework around which surgical therapies are based. It is part of a special expo session of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) annual meeting that is allowing surgeons to provide insight into aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
