The National Breast Implant Registry (NBIR) is a quality improvement initiative that prospectively collects outcomes and safety data for all patients receiving breast implants in the United States. The NBIR represents a collaborative initiative between The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), patients, and breast implant manufacturers. The goals of the NBIR are to allow for performance tracking, improve patient satisfaction, decrease post-operative complications, and inform clinical practice through evidence-based data and guidelines.
