Murad Alam, MD, will serve as president, with Larry Green, MD, as vice president, alongside four newly appointed board members.


Two new officers and four new board members will be installed at the conclusion of the 2026 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting.

The officers and board members are all board-certified dermatologists and AAD members. They will also hold the same positions within the American Academy of Dermatology Association, a sister organization focused on government affairs, health policy, and practice information.

New Officers

Murad Alam, MD, MSCI, MBA, FAAD, will hold the office of president for one year. He is vice chair of the Department of Dermatology and a professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

He obtained his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and completed his dermatology residency at Columbia University. He also completed fellowship training in laser procedures and Mohs surgery. Alam previously served on the AAD Board of Directors from 2020 to 2024 and chaired several Academy committees, most recently the AADA Congressional Policy Committee.

Larry Green, MD, FAAD, will hold the office of vice president for one year. He is a clinical professor of dermatology at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.

Green obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his dermatology residency at the University of California, Irvine. He previously served on the AAD Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023 and has held leadership roles in several medical organizations.

Board Members

Each of the following dermatologists will serve a four-year term on the AAD Board of Directors.

  • Sandra M. Johnson, MD, FAAD, is a dermatologist in private practice in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
  • Maral Kibarian Skelsey, MD, FAAD, is a dermatologist in private practice in Chevy Chase, Maryland, and a clinical professor of dermatology at Georgetown University.
  • Alina G. Bridges, DO, FAAD, is an associate professor and director of dermatopathology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New York.
  • John Trinidad, MD, MPH, FAAD, is a dermatologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School.

Each of the new board members has served on AAD committees or in leadership roles within dermatology organizations
