At the BUILD studios on Monday while promoting new episodes of their series, which begin airing this week, Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif brought up the reality that โbotchedโ plastic surgery is on the rise, and they put forth a hypothesis as to why that is.
โThereโs this phenomenon we call โSnapchat dysmorphia,’โ Dr. Dubrow told the studio audience. โPatients filter themselves on Snapchat or Instagram and they have an idealized version of what theyโd like to look like. And they realize they donโt look like this and they start to get anxiety over it and they go into their plastic surgeons office at high rates now, and say โI need to look like this.โ So thereโs a lot more plastic surgery happening.โ
Thank goodness there are professional doctors that know when to tell a patient โenough is enough.โ
I see so many women that have had too many fillers and /or too many facial plastic procedures.
