Women don’t have to chose between the natural look and feel of silicone gel and the peace of mind of saline – they can now get a Structured Breast Implant – a new FDA-cleared option from Ideal Implant that provides both, according to a news release from Ideal Implant.
IDEAL IMPLANT features a patented internal structure consisting of a series of implant shells nested together and two chambers filled with only saline. The structure supports the shell so it does not collapse when upright and supports the edges to minimize wrinkling. Three types are available.
“Through years of struggling with ruptured silicone gel implants and hearing countless patient apprehensions, I noticed women needed a third option while choosing a breast implant – one capable of merging the natural feel of a silicone gel implant and the safety of a saline implant without their drawbacks; IDEAL IMPLANT does just that,” says Robert S. Hamas, MD, president and CEO of Ideal Implant.
IDEAL IMPLANT reportedly has no risk of silent rupture and the lowest rupture rate at 1.8%. In addition, it has the “safety of saline” for peace of mind. If it ruptures, a woman will know by looking in the mirror, so no expensive MRI scans are needed to detect rupture, the release explains.
