The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) is currently offering three grant opportunities for member dermatologists and dermatology residents.

They include:

•*ALL NEW!!  The AAD Cochrane Scholarship

This grant was created this year to promote training in evidence-based medicine and expand its reach in the field of dermatology. Two recipients will receive a travel grant to attend the Cochrane Colloquium, October 3 to 7 in Vienna, where they will learn how to produce high-quality systematic reviews. AAD members and third-year residents from the US and Canada are invited to apply for the award. The submission deadline is March 2.

•  The Native American Health Service Resident Rotation Program

This grant gives second- and third-year residents the opportunity to provide dermatologic care to Navajo Nation residents during a 1- to 2-week elective with the Indian Health Service. Four grants will be awarded to US residents. The application deadline is April 1.

•  The Resident International Grant

This grant provides funding for senior dermatology residents to participate in a 4- to 6-week elective in Botswana, where they will help administer dermatologic HIV care and visit outreach sites. Fifteen grants are available to US and Canadian residents. The application deadline is April 1.
