Solta Medical Inc announced Wednesday the launch of a new skin resurfacing laser system that the company claims will work for large body areas during a single treatment. The nonablative Fraxel re:store Dual system includes a 1927 nm (nanometer) wavelength, the first ever application of a Thulium laser in the aesthetics market, optimized for treatment of pigmentation and other superficial skin conditions.
This product launch follows Solta’s announcement last week of the new Thermage CPT system for skin tightening and body contouring.
Fraxel re:store Dual system features and benefits include dual fiber laser technology in one system; accelerated clearance of unwanted pigmentation via a Thulium laser; focal cooling has been built directly into the hand piece; and a new scanner design that the firm claims improves the overall procedure time.
Solta Medical is planning to take its Fraxel re:store Dual system and Thermage CPT system on tour to several cities in the US and overseas.
