Plastic Surgery Practice announces that it has hired two veteran healthcare journalists to steer its rebrand. Alison Werner and Keri Forsythe-Stephens, who bring a combined total of 30 years of healthcare journalism experience to the role, will serve as co-chief editors. Barry Echavarria will remain publisher of PSP, with B2B journalism veteran Steven Martinez serving as managing editor.
โWe are so excited to breathe new life into a brand that has made a huge name for itself in the plastic surgery arena,โ says Werner. โI come from both an aesthetics and practice management backgroundโhaving worked as the chief editor of Orthodontic Practice since 2012โand I believe this experience will serve me well in my new role with PSP.โ
Wernerโs co-chief editor Forsythe-Stephens also brings a unique perspective to the role, having undergone breast reconstruction after her 2020 mastectomy. โPlastic surgeons need to know what their patients wantโand I do,โ Forsythe-Stephens says. โMy experience as a plastic surgery patient has made me empathetic to the processโand I will use this experience to benefit the brand.โ
Since Werner and Forsythe-Stephens took over the brand in February 2022, the team has published a variety of cutting-edge articles, with topics ranging from ultrasound in plastic surgery, 2022 top trends, whatโs new in facial plastic surgery, using social media to market your practice, to understanding breast implant illness.
The team has also recorded three podcasts, two of which feature two of the biggest names in plastic surgery, board-certified plastic surgeons Alex Zuriarrain, MD, FACS, and Daniel Ward, MD, MS, FACS. Current PSP podcast topics include Brazilian Butt Lift safety, facial plastic surgery trends, and cultivating a patient mindset.
