The device uses 2.45-GHz energy and three handpieces designed to target subcutaneous tissue while maintaining surface cooling, according to the company.
Cartessa Aesthetics announced the US and Canadian launch of Onda Pro by DEKA, a noninvasive body contouring system intended to improve contour and the appearance of cellulite.
Branded by DEKA and developed by Italian manufacturer El En SpA, Onda Pro is the latest evolution of the company’s Coolwaves technology, according to a press release from Cartessa.
According to Cartessa, Onda Pro uses a 2.45-GHz energy source designed to bypass the skin surface and selectively target subcutaneous tissue, generating controlled heat at focused depths while protecting the skin surface. The company says the applicators incorporate surface cooling to support patient comfort and safety.
Three handpieces designed for different depths
Cartessa says Onda Pro builds on clinical experience with the original Onda platform, introduced in 2018, and features three handpieces—Deep, Shallow, and Pocket—intended to address different anatomical areas and treatment depths across superficial and subcutaneous layers.
“What sets Onda Pro apart is that it is unlike anything else on the market and already a proven brand attracting VIP clientele,” says Gabe Lubin, founder, board chairman, and principal of Cartessa Aesthetics, in a release. “By combining DEKA’s advanced engineering with our deep understanding of North American provider needs, Onda Pro offers a differentiated solution and alongside our other devices, reaffirms that Cartessa portfolio represents the best the global aesthetics industry has to offer.”
Practice economics and adoption
Cartessa reports that thousands of Onda systems are in use worldwide. The company positions Onda Pro as a consumable-free platform intended to support return on investment for practices as patient demand grows for noninvasive treatments.
“Onda Pro is one of the most exciting technologies that DEKA has ever created,” says Giustino Gallo, MD, vice president, international sales of DEKA, in a release. “The US and Canada can now benefit for this technology and we are confident with Cartessa as our partner.”
