Acelity’s new Strattice Reconstructive Tissue Matrix Perforated provides surgeons with additional solutions for complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
Strattice Reconstructive Tissue Matrix Perforated is a soft-tissue patch that reinforces soft tissue where weakness exists. The perforation pattern is engineered using computer modeling to maintain similar strength to Strattice.
The perforations are designed to be used in any orientation, with a nonperforated border that allows for trimming of the matrix without impacting the pattern of perforations.
Available Strattice Perforated product sizes include 10 x 16 centimeters, 16 x 20 centimeters, 20 x 20 centimeters, and 20 x 25 centimeters. Strattice Perforated is intended for use as a soft-tissue patch to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists and for the surgical repair of damaged or ruptured soft-tissue membranes.
Indications for use include the repair of hernias and/or body wall defects, which require the use of reinforcing or bridging material to obtain the desired surgical outcome.
Strattice Perforated is intended for single-patient, one-time use only. Before use, physicians should review all risk information, which can be found in the Instructions for Use attached to the packaging of each Strattice Tissue Matrix graft.
What does the pre-clinical data suggest? How does this compare to the standard strattice matrix?
