Were you feeling okay with your body this morning? In that case, look away, as yet another obscure standard of perfection has been added to that long, long list for women to hold ourselves against.

You know the way you’re meant to have big boobs, but no fat, somehow? 34Fs, but a size-six arm?

The small pouch of flesh between your bra strap and your armpit is the next target of attack as clinics around the country are offering to remove it for you.

Using a kind of treatment called Sculpsure, a laser light essentially passes through your skin and makes your fat cells in the area waste away.

Dr Galyna Selezneva, aesthetic doctor at the Dr. Rita Rakus Clinic in Knightsbridge in London, told The Sun that the bit of fat that ‘just won’t budge, ruining the perfect fit of our clothes’ can also be removed using a process that utilises radio-frequency micro-needles.

So however you choose to do it, you can remove that supposedly-unsightly bit of skin.

But more importantly, why should you?

If anything, disgust towards ‘bra bulge’ exemplifies what’s wrong with what we expect of women physically.

We’re told to be slim, but not skinny. We’re told to be curvy, but not fat.
