(Las Vegas, Nevada)—This year’s Multispecialty Foundation meeting—Vegas Cosmetic Surgery 2012—boasts the largest attendance to date, up more than 25% from 2011, according to meeting chair S. Randolph Waldman, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in Lexington, Ky.
The meeting, held from June 6 to 10, brings together "bell cow" leaders from the four core specialties: facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, dermatology, and oculoplastic surgery.
Its size has grown consistently since its inception. “We continue to promote multispecialty education,” Waldman tells Plastic Surgery Practice, one of the meeting’s media sponsors. “This doesn’t just mean we just have multispecialty doctors at the event, and call it a multispecialty meeting,” he says. “We are evenly divided and striving toward education.”
What can attendees expect to walk away with? “At the end of the meeting, they will know which way the wind is blowing,” he says.
Other 2012 meeting highlights included:
• A special skin enhancement and rejuvenation track.
• An all-new “Open” paper forum.
• An enhanced rhinoplasty session, endorsed by the Rhinoplasty Society.
• A 4-day practice management session.
