The organizations highlighted new leadership appointments, membership growth, education initiatives, and patient safety efforts during The Aesthetic MEET 2026 in Boston.

The Aesthetic Society named Jamil Ahmad, MD, as president of the organization during The Aesthetic MEET 2026, held May 14-17 in Boston.

Ahmad succeeds Tracy Pfeifer, MD, and will lead the organization as it continues expanding its educational programming, international membership, and professional initiatives for aesthetic surgeons and aesthetic professionals.

“It is an honor to serve as president of The Aesthetic Society. Our focus remains on advancing education, strengthening global collaboration, and upholding the highest standards of patient safety. We have built a strong foundation to continue to shape what comes next for our specialty,” says Jamil Ahmad, MD, president of The Aesthetic Society, in a release.

The organization says the leadership transition follows a year of significant growth, with membership increasing by more than 30% and members joining from more than 30 countries.

Nearly 3,000 attendees participated in The Aesthetic MEET 2026, which included educational sessions, hands-on training, and programming focused on aesthetic surgery and nonsurgical treatments. The society also highlighted continued expansion of its online educational platform, The Aesthetic Academy, along with webinar and masterclass offerings for surgical and nonsurgical professionals.

In addition, The Aesthetic Society discussed growth of AlliedPro, its membership category for nonsurgical aesthetic professionals, and announced plans for Aesthetic One, a digital member platform expected to launch in 2026.

The Aesthetic Foundation Leadership

The Aesthetic Foundation also announced new leadership during the meeting, naming David A. Sieber, MD, as president. The foundation continues to focus on research and patient safety initiatives, including the American Registry for Implant Surveillance and Evaluation (ARISE), which tracks breast implant outcomes data. According to the organization, the ARISE annual report includes data from more than 130,000 breast implant devices across aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

“It’s an exciting time for The Aesthetic Foundation. We’re focused on expanding high-impact research, strengthening the role of real-world data, and continuing to raise the bar for patient safety across the specialty,” says Sieber in a release. “At the same time, we are deepening our commitment to supporting patients and the next generation of surgeons through initiatives like the ongoing research grant funding available to surgeon researchers, patient assistance funds, the James Stuzin Aesthetic Education Excellence Fund, and our externship program. Together, these efforts reflect our role at the forefront of advancing the specialty while meaningfully investing in its future.”
