Facebook has apologized for disabling the account of an artist whose posts were intended to showcase tattoos for breast cancer survivors who had undergone reconstructive surgery.

STLToday.com reported that Kerry Soraciโ€™s page Tattoos by Kerry Soraci was disabled Dec. 30, because it featured โ€œcontent that is sexually suggestive/contains nudityโ€ and thus did not follow the siteโ€™s โ€œcommunity standards.โ€

The site had also disabled pages for her other businesses, ย I Scream Cakes and Kaleidoscope Ceiling, because she was the administrators for those too. Soraci told the news website that it took media coverage to get Facebookโ€™s attention.

โ€œI donโ€™t understand this as the consequence for something so helpful,โ€ Soraci told the Post-Dispatch on Thursday.
